Round the Mountain Event Coordinator

Ongoing and Labor Day Weekend, 2013

Have you been "Round the Mountain" (RTM)? This three-day event, held over Labor Day weekend each year, leads Mazamas on the Timberline Trail around Mt. Hood.  Guests hike during the day and stay at the Mazama Lodge overnight, enjoying comfortable lodging, great food, and camaraderie of fellow Mazamas members.

Keep a beloved tradition alive! Trail Trips Committee seeks someone to plan and coordinate the 2013 Round the Mountain. Candidates should have experience with event planning and management and should be fans of the Mazama Lodge. Having participated in past RTM events is a benefit, but not necessary. This year’s event will be led by two coordinators, —a Participant Coordinator and a Hike Leader Coordinator,— who will orchestrate the three day event with the support of a committee. Contact Kati Mayfield, kati@mazamas.org for more information.

Digital Mapping Volunteer

Ongoing Project

Do you have experience with website design or digital mapping? The Mazamas and the Outdoor Alliance are planning to develop a mapping project for human-powered recreation and need your help! This project will contain multiple components that will eventually evolve into a web-based and mobile-device platform.  This volunteer opportunity would involve an evening workshop at MMC the week of March 11th (exact date TBD) and then ongoing work from home, expected to be about 10-20 hours.

If you would like to get involved with this exciting project, contact Adam Baylor at 503.227.2345 or Adam(at)mazamas.org
